Study Finds Online Video Advertising Affects In-Store Purchase Behavior Positively
Research Leverages Nielsen’s Measurement Tools to Show Impact of Online Video Campaign on In-Store Sales of Air Wick Brand
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 20, 2010 — BrightRoll, a branded video advertising network, today released the results of its Video Impact study in conjunction with global CPG leader Reckitt Benckiser (RB).
The study, which was conducted using Nielsen’s NetEffect product, found that a five-month online video campaign for Air Wick Freshmatic and Scented Oils generated a 6 percent lift in in-store sales, outperforming other measured digital campaigns for RB’s products.

Nielsen: US Ad Spending Down 9% in 2009; Internet Ad Spending Flat
NEW YORK, NY – February 24, 2010 – U.S. ad spending declined nine percent in 2009, according to preliminary figures released today by The Nielsen Company. Spending fell an estimated $11.6 billion to a total of $117 billion last year.
The figures continue a trend of at least six straight quarters of negative growth in the ad industry, but it’s a trend that shows evidence of slowing down. In the previous two quarters, Nielsen reported declines of 15.4% and 11.5%.

MegaView Search data – including total searches, unique searchers, search share, and all other search figures – cannot be trended with search results prior to June 2009 due to recent methodology changes.
Searches represent the total number of queries conducted at the provider. Example: An estimated 6.6 billion search queries were conducted at Google Search, representing 66.1 percent of all search queries conducted during the given time period.
