DotAsia to Launch Internationalized Domain Names in 2010
Priority for Existing ".Asia" Domain Registrants for Corresponding IDNs Considered
HONG KONG, Nov. 18 -- Following announcements by ICANN to approve the use of Internationalized Domain Names (IDN), the global top- level domain ".Asia", will accept IDN registrations starting in the second half of 2010 to address pent up demand in Asia for multilingual web addresses.

New Explanatory Memo for Pre-delegation Testing for New gTLDs
The module 5 of the Draft Applicant Guidebook version 2 available since early February describes procedures applicable at the concluding stages of the gTLD application process, more specifically, a pre-delegation test addressing technical and other requirements the applicant will be asked to fulfill.
ICANN's 35th International Public Meeting in Sydney Kicks Off in Two Weeks
June 8, 2009 -- ICANN's 35th International Public Meeting is just two weeks away. The conference will be held 21-26 June 2009 at the Hilton Sydney. A full schedule for the meeting, including a synopsis of each session being held throughout the week, is available on the ICANN Sydney Meeting website.
Highlights
Two main issues will likely dominate the conference: new generic Top-Level-Domains (gTLDs), and Internationalised Domain Names (IDNs). Workshops on the status of the new gTLD process, as well as the IDN Fast-Track process, will take place on Monday.
