Eclipse Gets Interoperability and Next-Generation Experience on Microsoft Platform

Microsoft teams with Tasktop Technologies and Soyatec on open source projects designed to foster interoperability and make Eclipse a first-class tool on the Microsoft platform.

LUDWIGSBURG, Germany — Oct. 28, 2009 — Part of an ongoing initiative to make its products more open, Microsoft Corp. today announced at the Eclipse Summit Europe new solutions that help developers using the Eclipse platform take advantage of the new features in Windows 7 and Window Server 2008 R2, and reinforce Java and PHP interoperability with Windows Azure and Microsoft Silverlight.

Eclipse Summit Europe Opens Call for Participation

June 11, 2009 -- The call for participation is now open for Eclipse Summit Europe, the Eclipse Foundation’s annual European community event, taking place October 27-29, 2009 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. You are invited to submit proposals in five categories: 1) embedded, 2) IDEs, 3) modeling, 4) runtime, or 5) other new & noteworthy that is of interest to the Eclipse community.

Eclipse Foundation Presents Galileo In Action

June 8, 2009 -- On June 26, the Eclipse Foundation is presenting Galileo In Action - a virtual conference where you can interact with project leads involved in the release and see demos of the new features. The annual simultaneous release has now grown to 33 projects with over 24 million lines of code, contributed by committers around the world. With such a large global community, Eclipse wants to bring Galileo to you!

Eclipse Foundation Announces First Release of Swordfish, a Next Generation ESB

EclipseCon 2009, Santa Clara, Calif., March 23, 2009 -- The Eclipse Foundation announced today the first release of Swordfish, a next-generation enterprise service bus (ESB) that provides the flexibility and extensibility required by enterprises to successfully deploy a service-oriented architecture (SOA) strategy. Swordfish is based on the OSGi standard and builds upon successful open source projects, including Eclipse Equinox and Apache ServiceMix.
