Ex-Utarget/Fox Man Joins World’s Largest Video Ad Network

Jan. 20, 2010 -- The world’s largest video ad network Tremor Media has appointed Tim Williams as its new UK sales director, the company’s second major hire in as many months.

Williams joins from Utarget.Fox, where he was responsible for online video accounts in the UK and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

As sales director, Williams will be in charge of business development and ad sales through Tremor Media’s London offices, promoting the company’s ground-breaking technology that makes it easy for publisher sites to make money from their online video content.

During his 11 year career, Williams has held senior sales positions with digital, broadcast and multi-channel ad agencies, as well as in-house positions with major broadcasters. Before working with Utarget.Fox, Williams was account director at Digital Media Sales, which was the UK’s only independent TV broadcast sales company, where he managed ad sales for 15 mainstream digital TV channels. He has also worked for Universal Television UK and Granada Media, which gives him a wealth of experience in broadcast advertising that complements his expertise in online video advertising.

Tremor Media’s UK managing director, Adrian Lacey, said, “Tim brings more than a decade’s worth of experience in both broadcast and digital advertising, as well as over two years’ directing major online video accounts with Utarget. During his career, he’s developed enviable contacts among the biggest agencies, advertisers and publisher sites around the world, which will be invaluable to Tremor Media as we continue to expand across the UK and Europe.”

Williams said, “Throughout my career I’ve worked with a variety of both digital and broadcast advertising; as a result I’m passionate about the convergence of TV and online, and the new opportunities that online video can bring to advertisers and publishers. Tremor Media is the biggest name in online video advertising, so it’s the perfect next step in my career. They have unparalleled reach, a suite of unique in-stream video ad formats and their own Acudeo technology – the de facto standard for online video advertising.

“What’s more, my new role at Tremor Media couldn’t have come at a better time: the online video advertising market has continued to thrive, even in the midst of a recession, as publishers and advertisers increasingly recognise that it’s the most effective and engaging form of advertising. It’s certainly going to be a very interesting start to the decade for the industry, and I know that Tremor Media will be at the forefront of the revolution in digital content.”
