Ted West to Resign as LookSmart President and CEO
Jean-Yves Dexmier, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, Appointed Chief Executive Officer
December 14, 2009 -- SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 14, 2009 -- The Board of Directors of LookSmart, Ltd. (Nasdaq:LOOK), an online search advertising network solutions company, announced today that Mr. West has stepped down from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, as well as resigned his seat on the company's Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Jean-Yves Dexmier, the company's Executive Chairman, is assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective today until a replacement is named.
Dr. Dexmier said, "On behalf of the Board of Directors, we want to thank Ted for his contributions and efforts as President and Chief Executive Officer over the past two years, and wish him success in his future endeavors."
Dr. Dexmier has served on LookSmart's Board of Directors since April of 2007 and as Executive Chairman since October of 2009. Dr. Dexmier brings more than thirty years of executive leadership experience within the technology industry including, most recently, as Chief Financial Officer of Openwave, Chief Executive Officer of Agentis Software, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Informix Software, and Chief Financial Officer of Octel Corporation. Dr. Dexmier has a B.A. in Fundamental Mathematics from Lycee Pasteur, an M.B.A. from Ecole Polytechnique and a Ph.D. in Electronics from Ecole Nationale Superieure de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace, all located in France.
