Undertone Networks
Undertone Networks (Undertone? Undertone?? To my sensitive ear, that has a pretty negative connotation. What the hell were they thinking?) bills itself as, "The Singular Choice for Quality Display and Video Advertising". OK.
Here's what they have to say about themselves:
At Undertone Networks, we have built an online advertising network to cater to the world's largest and most demanding marketers, agencies and media companies.
For advertisers and the agencies that serve them, we bring innovative solutions, the highest level of service and a collection of the best, most well known and trusted websites in the media business.
For site partners, our turnkey approach and rotation of leading advertisers offer consistent and substantial revenue.
Annoying website, if reasonably, but far from very, attractive. Stupid DHTML drop-down menus. I hate those. Not always, but sometimes. In this case, yes, hate them.
Anyway, here's another snippet:
Undertone Networks executes and manages online advertising campaigns for leading digital and traditional advertising agencies along with the marketers they serve. We take the time and listen to your goals and objectives and then develop custom campaigns that help you exceed them.
Advertise on the Web’s Top-Tier Properties
At Undertone we carefully select our media partners to ensure that your message only appears alongside high-quality content that captivates and engages the right user in the right environment. Because we avoid purchasing inventory from ad exchanges, social networks or user generated content sites, your brand is protected and well represented.
Seems like everyone's advertising on the web's top-tier properties. Seems like that tier must be getting pretty crowded and may need a little shoring up.
The Undertone team of media buyers and account coordinators closely monitor the delivery and performance of the media to make sure we monetize every impression served. Our exclusive focus on high quality advertisers allows us to serve only the best advertisements through your site's rotation, thus ensuring a good experience for your site visitors while maintaining a clean site aesthetic.
I like the sound of that, although the "team of media buyers" is probably a single temp named "Shirlee", or possibly "Fayth".
No clear definition of publisher requirements, nor any readily obvious channel for applying to the network, so can't help you there. But by all means pay them a visit (if you're not as annoyed by DHTML drop-down menus as I am).
NAI member.
