Image Space Media, like its competitor GumGum, offers targeted ads that float over images when the image is in focus, thus adding an additional potential revenue stream to ever-more overcrowded site real estate. The code implementation is elegant, and the site, though still in beta as of this writing, offers a solid range of useful tools for publishers.

CPM rates as of even date, however, are not so very good - let's hope they manage to drum up a few more customers.

From the Image Space Media website:

"Image Space Media is the leading provider of In-Image advertising for the Internet, reaching over 60 million unique users worldwide each month... In-Image advertising is an overlay technology that matches relevant ads, both unobtrusive & engaging, within the images on your website. An ad appears when user mouses over the image."

The technology works quite well and is not overly intrusive, unlike GumGum's ads which appear regardless of focus and don't disappear until clicked away. Give Image Space Media a try if your site is heavy on image content and you're in need of an additional incremental revenue stream.
