prefetch request

Official IAB definition:

"A request for and caching of Internet content by an application that occurs prior to, but in anticipation of, the request for the content by a user. Prefetch requests are generally made for the purpose of speeding content access (due to the inadvance caching process) if and when the content is actually requested by the user. A prefetch request does not qualify for measurement as a click until subsequent user interaction with the ad content occurs, as required for a non-prefetch click."
