IDology Partners With ARX on Digital Signatures for B2C
ARX and IDology announce partnership to provide customers with new authentication option for CoSign
Atlanta, GA, January 19, 2010 – A new alternative for verified, digital signatures that introduces flexibility in the process was announced today as the result of a partnership formed between IDology, Inc. and ARX, Inc.
The partnership pairs two industry leading solutions, ARX’s CoSign and IDology’s ExpectID® IQ, to give businesses the proper controls over the ID proofing process behind verified, digital signatures.
The combination of these products creates an undisputable strength for the authentication of an online transaction or document. By verifying the identity of a signer before attaching a forgery-immune digital signature, companies can rest assured that important contracts, disclosures and other documents are being signed by the real person represented in the signature. IDology’s CEO, John Dancu, says the partnership with ARX creates new opportunities for companies to fight fraud:
“Companies that conduct business online can look at verified, digital signatures with more certainty because the necessary documents have been approved and signed by the real person represented in that signature. It also makes it easier for businesses to keep pace with the speed of ecommerce while minimizing fraud.”
Pairing the solutions creates a seamless, automated process from verification to signature. First, basic identity information is provided by the signer. Then, IDology’s ExpectID IQ solution generates a dynamic, knowledge-based quiz to confirm that the signer truly is the person he/she is claiming to be. And because the answers to these questions are based on out-of-wallet information, they are difficult for anyone other than the actual person to answer. Simultaneously, CoSign is monitoring this process. If an ID is verified, the person is automatically granted a set of standard digital signature credentials that they can then use to digitally sign documents, transactions and records.
The entire process takes just minutes to perform, and adds stronger authenticity to any signed document in any B2C or G2C business process. IDology’s identity verification supports ARX’s three-Is concept for maintaining proof of the signer’s identity, intent and document integrity.
Verified or proofed identities combined with standard digital signatures are an extremely valuable set of tools for managing B2C businesses that must have trusted exchanges with customers online. Vice President of Business Development for ARX, John Marchioni explains:
“There are many instances where businesses and government agencies may need to reach out to customers or citizens over the Internet. IDology provides a reliable and trusted source for ID proofing so that businesses know the people they are working with are who they say they are. The advantage of using IDology with CoSign is the ease of use for businesses and the flexibility it allows them.”
CoSign has been providing standard digital signatures in a variety of industries to streamline and scale processes and transactions for many years. ARX solutions have helped numerous businesses transition to paperless workflow, as records signed with a digital signature are legally enforceable. And ExpectID IQ is used to validate the identities of customers in numerous customer-not-present situations every day. Because IDology’s solutions are offered through an on-demand, self-service model, businesses control the identity proofing process with the ability to respond to changes in an instant.
