IDology Adds Credibility to Online Healthcare Community TogetherMD
Physician Identities Confirmed for Online Interaction
Atlanta, GA, September 17, 2009 – The physicians-only space of the online healthcare community, TogetherMD was created to connect physicians to share ideas and create change in their field. However, making sure that space is occupied by physicians only is critical to its success.
“Physicians have voiced the need for an environment where they can share research-oriented information and best practices,” said Chief Community Officer of TogetherMD, Kevin Byrne. “And we know that it is important to take that extra step to verify the physicians’ identities so that this community includes valid professionals. That’s why we went to IDology.”
Byrne said that TogetherMD evaluated other vendors in the marketplace before ultimately selecting IDology. “The people at IDology really responded to our needs,” he added. “Their solution stood out to us because it is flexible and easy to use.”
IDology’s ExpectID solution is integrated into TogetherMD’s online community to verify the identities of physicians when they sign up for an account. The process only takes an instant, but establishes credibility to the exclusive community by determining that anyone enrolling is in fact a real identity. IDology also allows TogetherMD to control the entire proofing process of their members from start to finish, so the growing online community can make changes whenever necessary, on-demand.
“Using ID verification in online communities helps administrators and users to know who they are communicating with,” said John Dancu, CEO of IDology. “In this case, it is important for the participating physicians to be verified in order to establish trust and credibility, thus leading to productive communication.”
Identity verification of physicians participating in TogetherMD will begin September 17, 2009.
