Informatica's Free Data Quality Checkup Tool Quickly Assesses Data's "Health"
REDWOOD CITY, CA, August 18, 2009 -- Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the world’s number one independent provider of data integration software, today announced the availability of a free Data Quality Checkup Tool. Aimed at the business user and designed and developed to help existing and prospective customers quickly and easily assess the health of their data, users can try Informatica's Data Quality products at no cost. With the results of the checkup organizations can start to build a business case, or strengthen current discussions for investing in data quality.
High-quality data is complete, consistent, accurate and current. The need for it continues to grow as companies are being asked to be operationally efficient, meet regulatory compliance and reduce risk. Informatica Data Quality provides robust data analysis, data cleansing, data matching, exception handling and reporting and monitoring capabilities allowing data quality to be managed as an enterprise-wide initiative.
Free and Easy to Use
Visitors to the checkup website, with built-in browser security, can upload a sample of their data and analyze results from a web-based data profiling report. With the results, they are able to gain an understanding of their data quality issues, without needing to provision hardware or install software. Once a user uploads their data securely, it is encrypted, processed on-site and stored on the Informatica server. Then an Informatica data quality product specialist profiles the data and emails the customer a link to a data profiling report. The data is then securely disposed of after the health check.
“There's a direct link between the quality of your company’s data and its business performance,” said Ivan Chong, general manager, Data Quality, Informatica. “High-quality data keeps your company competitive and thriving, no matter what size of company you are or which industry you are in. Using our checkup tool offers users an easy way to be introduced to data quality and the significant difference it can make to operational efficiency and the bottom line. Data quality is not just for the IT department, but needs to be pervasive throughout the entire organization, inside and outside corporate firewalls. Both the business and IT organizations need to collaborate, jointly owning and managing it.”
Informatica Data Quality software fosters collaboration among business information owners and IT team members on defining data quality dimensions, building data quality scorecards, collecting data quality business rules, reviewing data quality results, and managing exceptions.
The products deliver the full range of data quality capabilities - data profiling, cleansing, matching, and monitoring - ensuring that all data types - customer data, material and asset data, financial data - are complete, consistent, accurate, and current, regardless of where the data resides.
