Gartner Positions RSA in Leaders Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management
Evaluation Based on the Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
BEDFORD, Mass., June 4, 2009 -- RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE: EMC), today announced that it is positioned in the Leaders quadrant within Gartner’s 2009 Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). The positioning is based on RSA’s ability to execute and completeness of vision. It appears in the May 29, 2009 report by Mark Nicolett and Kelly M. Kavanagh entitled, "Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management, 2009."
According to Gartner, "The SIEM market is driven by customer needs to analyze security event data in real time (for threat management, primarily focused on network events) and to analyze and report on log data (for security policy compliance monitoring, primarily focused on host and application events)."
The RSA enVision® platform is designed to give organizations a single, integrated 3-in-1 log management solution for simplifying compliance; enhancing security and risk mitigation; and optimizing IT and network operations through the automated collection, analysis, alerting, auditing, reporting and secure storage of all logs. More than 1,700 customers have selected the RSA enVision platform.
"We are extremely proud that the report from Gartner positioned RSA in the Leaders quadrant," said Don MacLennan, Senior Director, RSA enVision and RSA Data Loss Prevention. “With the rapid expansion of security threats and tightening IT budgets, our customers rely more heavily on their SIEM systems for better threat identification and information risk management. We believe that our positioning in the leaders quadrant is based on our ability to meet the growing and diverse needs of compliance, security, and IT and network operations personnel within a single product. I believe this positioning supports our overall vision and strategy of integrating the enVision solution with other key RSA products such as with the RSA®Data Loss Prevention Suite, RSA SecurID® solution, RSA® Adaptive Authentication and RSA FraudActionSM service."
