Endeca and hybris Announce Strategic Partnership
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – September 17, 2009 – Endeca Technologies, Inc., a search applications company, and hybris, a leading vendor of multi-channel commerce and communication software, today announced a strategic product and go-to-market partnership. At the core of the partnership is a shared vision for the next generation of eCommerce architecture and the value it can bring to the market.
The first manifestation is a joint solution which brings together the Endeca Commerce Suite and its unique “dynamic storefront” experience, with the hybris Suite, which combines best-of-breed product information management (PIM) and eCommerce capabilities. Both companies will invest in a joint roadmap that delivers a next generation suite for eCommerce, allowing customers to benefit from a complete end-to-end solution that supports the complex needs of rapidly growing retail and B2B eCommerce organizations.
“Endeca and hybris are addressing the complexities that are now commonplace for global eCommerce businesses by offering an integrated multi-channel commerce solution that combines the control of PIM and online store operations of an eCommerce platform with the flexibility of a dynamic storefront,” said Janet Sherlock, research director, Retail, AMR Research.
Endeca is the standard for enabling innovative and interactive user experiences for eCommerce companies of all sizes and hybris has emerged as a global player in the master data management (MDM) and multi-channel commerce marketplace. As part of the partnership, Endeca will provide sales and support for the hybris Suite in North America. “hybris is excited to partner with Endeca and produce a joint product that we believe significantly raises the bar for eCommerce by integrating with Endeca’s dynamic storefront capabilities and offering a more consistent and contextual user experience,” said Ariel F. Luedi, CEO of hybris. “In addition, partnering with Endeca immediately gives us a strong presence in North America and the endorsement of one of the strongest brands in eCommerce technology.”
The tight integration of the joint solution allows merchandisers and IT professionals to leverage best-of-breed aspects of both platforms in a simplified manner that decreases integration complexity and increases online sales and marketing effectiveness. The joint solution already has a strong partner base ready to deliver these next-generation capabilities.
Sapient is a certified implementation partner for the joint Endeca and hybris solution. Chris Davey, senior vice president and global eCommerce practice lead for Sapient commented, “The integration between these two leading products and their integrated roadmap for future development should make for simpler deployments and ease of maintenance – an important factor in the total cost of ownership for their clients.”
For eCommerce businesses, the joint offering provides a user experience that helps customers find and buy the best products more easily, while providing the merchandising tools that help eCommerce organizations promote and sell products more effectively. The solution is unique to the North American market in its ability to easily support and scale for multi-site, multi-language, and multi-channel activity at a lower total cost of ownership. “We are thrilled to be working with hybris to deliver customers a much broader solution for increasing conversions and sales online along with the advantage of simpler deployments and easier maintenance,” said John Andrews, vice president, solutions marketing & product management, Endeca. “Working with hybris fits perfectly with the broader Endeca strategy of building compelling and innovative search applications on top of the Endeca Information Access Platform with our MDEX Engine at the core.”
