Online Advertising Executive From Google/DoubleClick Joins DataXuTeam
BOSTON, MA -- December 17, 2009 -- DataXu, provider of the leading real-time bidding platform for online display advertisers, today announced that it has expanded its sales team with the addition of two senior executives, in response to market demand for its service.
In conjunction with this team expansion, the company has opened an office in New York City led by veteran ad executive Steven Golus.
"Opening an office in New York gives the entire DataXu team an opportunity to stay well-connected to the epicenter of the advertising world, its trends, and our growing client base," said Mike Baker, President & CEO of DataXu.
Golus joins DataXu as Vice President of Sales and Go-to-Market from Google, where he led sales strategy for DoubleClick. As Vice President, Sales Strategy at DoubleClick, Golus led go-to-market efforts for the DoubleClick sales team and launched DART Adapt, DoubleClick’s advertising optimization technology. Earlier in his career, Golus held positions at Poindexter Systems (now [x+1]) and J. Walter Thompson. He is a graduate of Cornell University and the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Adrian Tompsett joins the DataXu team as Director of Business Development. Most recently, Tompsett was Executive Director of Business Development at ChoiceStream, a provider of personalization and advertising solutions for online retailers. In this capacity, he led ChoiceStream's European business expansion and sales management. Prior to that role, Tompsett held positions at YankeeTek Ventures, Dell and Grey Advertising. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the MIT Sloan School of Management.
"We are thrilled to have Steven and Adrian join our sales team," said Bruce Journey, Chief Revenue Officer at DataXu. "They both possess an outstanding combination of business acumen and industry expertise, which will serve DataXu and its clients well, as we continue to deliver solutions to help our customers achieve better advertising performance."
